Bearing Shells & Plain Bearings

Almost none of the major M/E or A/E makers of licensees, maintain any manufacturing or bearing shells or plain bearings of their own.

Diesel engine bearings are nearly all made by special sub-contractors with many generations of experience and specialized engineering knowledge in this very particular field. Manufacturers such as Miba, Zollern, Glyco, Braunschweiger, Glacier and Admos are among the best known, and there are many others.

In consequence, it is difficult to term a plain bearing as being "O.E.M. original" versus "Aftermarket" or "Copy Part", since in this area, at least, these terms are pretty much all the same thing!

SCARDANA® can offer competitive prices on many models of M/E and A/E bearings often with good deliveries. In most cases, it can be stated, whether, the maker is an actual "O.E.M. subcontractor" or an open market manufacturer.

In order to offer correctly, we always need:

  • engine model
  • year the engine was built
  • part number
  • drawing number
  • The engine serial number is usually not needed
  • Dimensions are helpful

Ask SCARDANA® for a second opinion, before proceeding to buy costly "O.E.M." bearings, after all, our quotations are free.
